We can take better care of our Veterans. We need to help ensure their basic needs are met. That they have food and shelter along with good healthcare including mental health care.
It can be difficult for veterans to adapt to civilian life that is so different from the military standards and culture that have become a part of them. The interactions with others and society differences along with survivors guilt and other complications are very real obstacles that many veterans face.
Suicide rates are alarmingly high, we train our soldiers to be dedicated and give their all, many die others are left disabled. We must be there for them and help ensure veterans have the tools and support systems to help them succeed.
